Message from Mrs. McNary – Race for Education

Dear Parent,

I’m writing to let you know about a fun and easy way your family can help raise money for our school!

The Shelby County Education Foundation is hosting the 15th Annual Race for Education 5K on Saturday, November 14, 9 a.m., at the Agricenter Farmers Market. Proceeds from the registration fees go directly back to the classroom!

How can you support our school in the race?

You can register to race for our school! During race registration, each person selects a school they would like to support. Proceeds from your registration fees go directly to the school that you designate on your registration form. The more people that list our school during registration, the more funds that will go directly back to our school. In the past, schools have earned up to $4,000! There is an option to register as a “ghost runner,” but we would love for our students and parents to show up and run for us!

Register to Race for Our School:

Registration is quick and easy. Anybody who would like to run in the race can follow the steps below:

  1. Visit the race website –  https://raceforeducation.racesonline.com/
  2. Click “Register,” located in the list of links on the left.
  3. Select how you want to pay the $25 registration fee. You can pay online, or you can print out your completed form and mail it in with a check.
  4. Complete the online form. In the “School Affiliation” field, be sure to enter our school’s name.
  5. Show up to the race on November 14, and run for our school!

Family Health Expo

After the race, you can check out the SCS Family Health Expo inside the Agricenter for giveaways, free screenings and more. Over 30 vendors will be there to provide information, demonstrations and more about health and wellness.

Thank you for your continued support of our school, and we hope you can make it out to this fun event!
