Important Information:

Box Tops for Education Back-to-School Contest: Thank you to everyone who sent in box tops for the first quarter! We will have a drawing this week and announce the winner of the Richland socks and Gibson’s gift card over the intercom. Pay attention to the announcements!

Box tops no longer have to be attached to the Box Tops paper. You may simply cut them out and place them in a ziplock bag to bring to your teacher. Keep collecting box tops!!

REEF Movie Night/Trunk ‘r Treat: Please plan to come to a fun family outing for 2 Halloween inspired movies Toy Story and Bugs Bunny- each 25 minutes with a trunk or treat at intermission- kids can dress up– but no scary  or gory costumes.  Friday, doors open at 5:30.  First movie to start not later than 6pm at the Richland Elementary Cafeteria, pizza and refreshments are for sale, and a $7 donation (max $25 per family) for entry.   This a a family fun night for all.

What makes Richland Elementary School the very best elementary school in the district is our teachers, faculty and family participation.  The support REEF provides is tutoring for at risk children for both math and reading as well as faculty continuing education.  REEF is only able to do this through its fundraising events, and this movie night is the first of 5 fundraisers designed to fund these differentiating efforts. Please plan to attend, and we have volunteer opportunities too. Also, if you cannot make it, and still interested in supporting you can make donations to REEF

Richland African Dance Class- is still enrolling students. The children will learn song, rhythm and dance from a cultural perspective. Classes are every Friday (3:15-4:15 pm). Tuition is payable to Richland Elementary. please contact the office for more information.

Need to conact someone in your child’s class? You can access the Directory on your computer by logging on to AtoZConnect.com. You even have the ability to get the Directory on your phone.  The instructions for putting the website on the home screen of your phone are attached.  If you have any questions, you can email membership@richlnadpto.org.

Lunchroom Volunteers Needed: Time commitments are flexible – stay for one (11:00-12:00) or two (12:00-1:00) shifts daily, weekly, monthly, etc. – whatever works in your schedule. You will assist kids, meet entire grade levels of children, learn personalities, and get a good picture of your child’s peer group. You may sign up for when your child is in the cafeteria. **Most especially need help for the 11:00-12:00 shift!!** * Before your shift, check in at the main office and go to the cafeteria where a staff member will help you get started. http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0F45A5A72DA57-richland11

Office Needs: cheap/plain sponges and ziplocs = ice bags

Parking: In the morning, there is NO PARKING on the school side of Rich between the main doors and Oak Grove. Take a moment to study the traffic maps that detail the no parking zones and morning drop-off zones located in front of the school.  DO NOT park on Rich Road heading west (toward White Station) between Oak Grove and the front door. Carpool line only!
