Important Information:

Best Book in Town – book and order forms were to come home today. A flyer was sent home in last week’s Wednesday folders. Books will be delivered to student’s homeroom.

Books are $22. While supplies last, you will receive the 2017 book for free.

* Cash or Check Payment – to Richland PTO – memo: Best Book in Town

* For every 5 books you sell personally – you receive a free book.

* Top Seller in each grade will receive a $10 gift certificate to the School Book Fair next week.

Top Class in K-2 and Top Class in 3-5 will receive a pizza party.

* The money or book are due back on Monday, September 25th.

Book Fair: Richland Fall Book Fair is coming!  The Book Fair will be September 25-29, 2017. Parents, you can shop on your own or your student can shop during school hours. (We do close for lunch each day, so if parents are coming, please call ahead to check that day’s lunch closure time.)  Tax is charged, so please keep that in mind when sending money with your child.  Cash, credit, debit, and checks are all accepted.

Capital Campaign – Thank you again to all students, parents, teachers, and administrators for supporting our school to have a successful capital campaign and a rocking party. The students and teachers seemed to have a blast. We still have money coming in but we are right at $35,000. Thank you for helping us raise these funds. (Some pictures have been posted on the Richland PTO Facebook page.)

Box Tops for Education Back-to-School Contest: It is time to start sending in Box Tops for the first quarter, and your child could win a prize! For every 10 Box Tops submitted the first quarter, your child will receive an entry into a drawing for a Richland socks and a gift card! **If every student collects 10 Box Tops, we will earn approximately $800! If every student collects 50 Box Tops, we will earn approximately $4,000! If every student collects 100 Box Tops, we will earn approximately $8,000!** Here’s how:

1. Simply clip Box Tops from products and attach them to collection sheet. For a list of participating products, go to www.boxtops4education.com. 2. Check the expiration dates Tops that expire before November 1, 2017 cannot be accepted. 3. Your child’s name MUST be on the collection sheet into be entered in the drawing. 4. At any time in the quarter, send in the collection sheet to your teacher. Teachers will have extra collection sheets in the classroom that your child can request as needed. 5. All collection sheets must be turned in by Friday, October 6th. 6. The drawing will be the week after Fall Break, and the winner will receive a Richland socks and a gift card.

St. Jude Walk/Shirt: LAST WEEK to sign up!

Richland is joining the fight against childhood cancer by creating our own team for the September 23 walk.  The race cost is $10 all of which goes to St. Jude. St. Jude walk—Shirts are on sale for $15.  (cash only)  The shirts will be ready for the walk and are also uniform approved.  They can be worn to school! Register to walk/run with us.  http://fundraising.stjude.org/goto/richland **Shirts are available for purchase even if you cannot participate in the walk.**

Lunchroom Volunteers Needed: Time commitments are flexible – stay for one (11:00-12:00) or two (12:00-1:00) shifts daily, weekly, monthly, etc. – whatever works in your schedule. You will assist kids, meet entire grade levels of children, learn personalities, and get a good picture of your child’s peer group. You may sign up for when your child is in the cafeteria.
**Most especially need help for the 11:00-12:00 shift!!** * Before your shift, check in at the main office and go to the cafeteria where a staff member will help you get started.

Office Needs: cheap/plain sponges and ziplocs = ice bags

Cub Scouts: Pack 81 at Independent Presbyterian meets on Wednesdays at 4:30pm. The first meeting is August 30th. Grades 1-5 are invited. Contact Elizabeth McCallister elizabeth@mmccallister.com for more information. (There is no longer a Mullins troop.)

Parking: In the morning, there is NO PARKING on the school side of Rich between the main doors and Oak Grove. Take a moment to study the traffic maps that detail the no parking zones and morning drop-off zones located in front of the school.  DO NOT park on Rich Road heading west (toward White Station) between Oak Grove and the front door. Carpool line only!
