Accelerated Reader is a reading program that allows students to take tests on books they read independently. Students can check out books on their reading level from the library and take tests at their own pace to earn points.
This year, we will be offering new incentives to keep students engaged in reading all year long!
Readers who earn 50 points will receive a $5 gift card. The gift card will be awarded as soon as the student earns 50 points.
Students will accumulate points throughout the year and will be able to shop at the end-of-the-year AR store to spend their points on fun prizes. The AR Store will be May 16-18.
New this year, students will be awarded brag tags that they can proudly display on their backpacks as they reach benchmarks. Brag tags will be awarded starting at 5 points.
At the end of the year, prizes will be awarded for the top 3 AR winners in each grade.
Students will be given their username and password at the beginning of the school year. Accelerated Reader tests cannot be taken at home. Students will have the opportunity to take tests in the classroom during independent work time.
